Air Pressure Testing

We are able to offer pressure testing of new build domestic properties.

Building Regulations require Air Pressure Testing to be carried out on each property type on sites of three or more properties.

Although not compulsory it is advisable to pressure test one off properties, otherwise, an air permeability rate of 15m3/h.m2 @ 50pa has to be inputted.

Before the test is carried out, all mechanical ventilation systems must be switched off. All ventilation grilles and openings to the outside must be sealed. Smoke vents should be closed but not sealed. Drainage traps should be filled. Internal doors must be wedged open. Please note that buildings must be at a stage where they are ready to be occupied, for example when the building envelope and all electrical and plumbing work has been completed.

Air tightness testing is carried out in accordance with the procedures detailed in Technical Standard (TS1).
